Hi, I’m Laura.
I’m passionate about community, creativity, and experiences that bring people together. I love making spaces where narratives unfold, common ground forms, and new connections develop.
Originally from Oregon, I live with my husband and fur babies in Minnesota. Outside of work, I’m an avid runner, novice painter, fun party-thrower, and passionate storyteller.
Read on to learn more about what else I do outside of work.
Community
I’m always game for standing up and standing out. For example, every fall during the Twin Cities Marathon I organize a banana party where the course meets my street. I have loads of bananas to hand out to runners, plus banana costumes for the volunteer who join me.
Volunteering
As an advocate for fine art, I’m the sitting president of the Plymouth Arts Council, supporting and sponsoring arts, artists and audiences in the Minneapolis West Metro. Every spring I lead the council in organizing Primavera, our annual arts celebration gala and exhibition. I help coordinate musical performances, adjudication, order of ceremonies, and I emcee the evening events.
Art
I love making things and exploring new artistic mediums. I’ve made jewelry, leather purses, and dabbled in all sorts of crafts. Lately I’ve been immersed in creating acrylics paintings inspired by animals, found objects, and puns.

My Values
Originality
Originality, for me, is about asking why, thinking differently, and daring to color outside the lines—even when it means standing alone. It’s not rebellion for rebellion’s sake—it’s creative integrity. It’s wonder, wit, and the will to imagine what’s possible.
Zeal
Zeal isn’t a surface-level buzz—it’s the full-body, soul-fired enthusiasm that kicks in when I’m aligned with purpose. When something lights me up, I bring that spark to everything and everyone around me.
Reflection
I don’t run from the mirror. I turn toward it. I give myself time and space to process, understand, and grow. Reflection allows me to view challenges as opportunities to evolve, rather than threats.
